35w vs 55w

Hi guys! Im sorry if im ignorant regarding these topic but im about to buy an hid kit and im confused on which one to pick. What are the advantages and disadvantages of each? If i buy the 55w kit, should i also buy the HID ACCESSORY HARNESS they're selling? Do you think the stock wires from our car would hold the surge of a 55w? Any input would be appreciated.

"Use this relay harness to connect HIDs to cars with very small gauge wiring that cannot supply the initial surge current required to light the bulbs reliably. Symptoms indicating the harness is required would be intermittent starting or lights going out after being turned on for several minutes and requiring you to turn the lights off and back on for them to turn back on again.

Recommended for all 50W HID installations but most American and European cars work at 35W/50W without the harness. The harness is definitely recommended for Quad's and other ATVs or when running multiple HID installations. This harness is a fused relay isolation harness capable of supplying 40A at 12vdc."

I don't have any experience with this stuff, but I'd look into the difference in amps between the two. The initial surge shouldn't be too much of a problem as far as creating heat goes, but I'd want know how many amps are going to be shoved through the line.

thats off DDM Tunings website right?

i had Riken Sport 35w 8000k HIDs, then i switched to DDM Tunings Slim Ballast 55w 6000k. I chose to get the harness for safety reasons since i went with the higher wattage lights. i know people who dont use the harness with no problems. but i know some people who had little problems. I would say get it. its just a safety precaution. i know they have lifetime warranty on their lights but if they go out then you'll be stuck without HIDs for a while

The 35w HID kit will produce 200% more light than halogen bulbs and the 55w kit will produce 30%-40% more than the 35w kit. I would just go with the 35w in 6k or 8k. 55w for your low beams will get some people pissed at you on the road.
