Ill have some sweet pics on here by 9:00 but this is all I got for now. Just a picture of the screen to show how well it fits (near perfect) Everything is torn apart at the moment. I still have to get my car psu and then ill finish it up.

I am gonna send power to the pc via extension cord tonight and show everyone my UBER software installed.

The pc has windows vista ultimate on it. High End pc hardware and a sata 500gig hard drive that i have all my hd movies, songs, games etc on. I will also take a few pics of me playing an Evo in the game Need For Speed Undercover in my car! WOOT!!

I will write a tutorial on how to mount the screen. Will show pictures. It was the easiest thing i have ever done though. A few screws to unscrew. Monitor and board pop out of the case. A few things to cut off the backside of the double din. I used some scissors. They were more like pliers that could cut. I don't know my tools well. Use electrical tape to tape the monitor to the back of the double din piece to hold it down where you want it and then you glue the edges of the monitor to the double din with Plastic Welder. This can be found at any hardware store. It's very common. Thats pretty much it.

ebay. It's a Lilliput 889GL-80NP/C/T 8" Widescreen w/ Touchscreen capability.

Here's some pics. I took some more at night, but they were all horrible because I suck with a camera. These will have to do..

Far View of the screen.

Windows Vista Ultimate

Centrafuse Software

Watching a random movie.

Watching a concert.

I am going to truly enjoy this when it is completely finished!

I need to get one of these wireless controllers so passengers can play racing games in my car! All i got for now is a keyboard.

NICE!!! How did you hook up the speakers to the PC? A full write up would be a great asset!

I'll definitely do a full write up on everything as soon as it's 100% complete. I'll post it as a new topic and get it off this one. Will probably be a few weeks at least though. This is quite a slow project for me.

its not as bad as i would have guessed during the day. some glairs here and there, but i will be definetly looking for a transflective screen cover to reduce the glair and increase visibilty once i have extra spending cash. the pictures above were during the day under not much shade if any.

Siiiiick. I need to get my hands on that screen. That fits so well! I'm glad that I didn't jump the gun and go with a 7" screen.

Hey, I just though of something that I've never really thought of before in relation to a screen in the dashboard. I HATE having bright lights on when I'm driving at night because they're so distracting. I dim my dash lights down, don't use my GPS at night because the screen doesn't really dim, and have even taken my stereo faceplate off before so I could see country roads better. How adjustable is the brightness of this screen (or any screen that anyone's used)? Is it distracting at night?

very adjustable via the remote, but if you got windows on it with nvidia graphics, from the nvidia control panel you can completely control it. if you are worrying about it being too bright at night, use centrafuse like i am and it has brightness modes. it can get really bright or extremely dim if u want which just a tap of the finger.

the 7" widescreen will fit with some type of trim on the edges so it doesnt have the empty spcae around the screen. there is another forum for the 7". look up "linux car pc"

you need an amplifier because it the voltage output of the motherboard is too low.
