Here was my post in the wrong section

I have a 2 way compustar which is a discontinued model by now, and its been slowly breaking on me. FIrst remote start does not work anymore, then the doors would lock and unlock on its own, and happens when Im driving. So Im always nervous it would does it on when the car is not powered on. I basically turned it off. I think the brain is finished.

Wondering if I was to buy a new alarm, would it need to be rewired completely, or just have the box changed. To be specific, would the installer need to rip my car apart to install a new alarm?

edit: this belongs to evo 1-9 forums, sorry mods, please move if necessary
