If you are going for just an alarm I would check out the viper 5002. Its is a 2 way responder with 1/4 mile range(yes it will go that far)!!

If you are looking for a remote start/alarm I would suggest either going with the viper 5901 or 5902. Both are two way with up to a 1 mile range.

Personally I would try to stay away from the viper smart start with the iphone until it has been out a little while longer. I have been reading several reviews both on the internet and iphone app store and they are not very well. Glitches in the system, features showed in the demo that are not actually included in the app, car not locking or unlocking. I suggest doing a bit of research into all the systems before making a purchase.

iPhone app sounds tight. But maybe I'd wait a lil bit longer for glitches to be fixed
