Lightweight Battery: need to determine my options

Right now I have a Braille B14115 lightweight battery on my 03 Evo 8.
Its dead as a doornail. I drove the car all day yesterday, turned the car off and immediately turned it back turned the key to turn it back over and nothin. I've datalogged voltages and its pretty apparent i'm on alternator voltage only, not good.

I want to get another lightweight battery, but not necessarily a Braille. I haven't had that much luck with this one obviously and I've heard they are overpriced-rebadged deka batteries.

So what are my options as far as getting ANOTHER, possibly DIFFERENT lightweight battery?

From the looks of my setup, can I get an odyssey or some other brand w/o buying a whole kit?

Have any of you ever had to do this?

I just bought an optima yellowtop 51R battery. Much smaller than stock, but has the power and reliability you dont get from a real MINI battery.

Think about it

I like where ur goin with that, I have a full-size optima redtop in my STi and love it (except the weight). I will have to take some measurements to see what i can do.

the Braille is 5.8"longX3.4"wideX5.8"Tall
The optima yellow top 51R is 9.31"longX5.06"wideX8.94"tall

My evo is across town right now so i can't measure it immediately but from the looks of the pic 5.8" wide vs. 9.31" wide might not fit.

I had the AMS mini Battery and it worked really good, even in the winter and with a sound system. Now I'm running a braille B3121 in my trunk and is also working good. It is light and has enough cranking power.

^ eventually I do want to mount it in the trunk, along with a fuel cell, the pumps, and the surge tank. But right now I just need to get a new battery keeping cost to a minimum.

bills bills bills...
