eclipse cd5030

Finally installed a deck in my car.

I also hardwired my Valentine1 and installed the bluetooth option that comes with the headunit.

Great sounding deck... I currently am still running stock speakers, no amp and it is night and day diffrence.

Amazing difference, isn't it? The stock deck barely has any juice behind it. With an upgraded HU that can actually drive the stock speakers, the sound takes on a whole new dimension. Have you started tuning the system yet?

Funny thing I noticed.... When running the stock radio with the engine off you could notice the draw on the battery (on the volt gauge) when the "bass" would hit. That does not happen with the aftermarket deck....

I tuned the EQ to my liking (7-band) and I started messing around with the onboard x-over.

I wanted to put highs and mids up front and primarily just low mids in the back but was not able to acheive it from the little time I was messing around with it.

Do you have this deck?.. Or are familiar with it?

Any reccomendations?...

1. Why do you want to do this?

2. Were you trying to use the unit's active x-over, or its HP/LP filters?

I guess I was trying to replicate having a sub without having one....??...

If you are familiar with the deck,.. throw out some of your settings and I can mess with it and try it out as I am by no means an audiophile

It doesn't work like that. The intent behind multi-driver installations is to have all the drives blend into a single whole, sonically. You were doing the opposite.

You probably wouldn't take someone's ROM and upload it into your car, right? Adjusting setting at will with no idea as to their impact is truly a bad idea. I'd strongly suggest that you open Google, type in any parameter that you don't understand and look for a definition. If you still don't understand a given tuning option, and I certainly wouldn't expect you to gauge its effect, ask here and I'll try to help.
