AEM Gauge Dimming

I just installed an AEM Analog wideband gauge, and an analog boost gauge. I'm trying to get the gauges to dim with the factories. The EVO IX's have 3 wires coming off of the factory gauge cluster dimmer switch: A black and yellow, black and sliver, and a green and silver. The black and silver does nothing when you tie into it. When tied into the black and yellow, the gauges go soft when the lights are on, then when I put the dimming all the way down, my gauges get bright. So it's backwards. When I tie into the green and silver, the gauges get bright when I turn on the lights, but now they won't dim. I don't understand how this is supposed to work.

I was trying to do things the white way, and not tie into the cigarette lighter. Can anybody appreciate that?
