Braille mini battery install = voltmeter unstable
I went ahead and installed the braille 11.5 mini battery. Everything seems to work fine. Cranks and starts great!
Only one issue.: My voltmeter is unstable.
When I first start the car it sits right above 14 volts rock solid. Once I start driving around and letting the car warm up the voltmeter jumps around the 14 mark. I wouldn't even mind but it makes the dash lights flicker and every other light I turn on after wards.
I added a grounding point between the negative terminal and the chassis which seemed to make it a bit better, but I'm still getting flickering. I tightened all the connections again also. I'm still getting instability.
Should I add more grounding points? Thanks for the help

Ya, I'll check the alternator.
Oddly enough the voltage is stable once the motor revs above 1000 RPM
Only flickers at idle ~700 RPM (This is when the voltmeter bounces like crazy)
The alternator produces more voltage at >1000 RPM, right?

you can also check your alternator by unplugging your battery while the engine is running. if it cant idle well or dies then your alternator isn't opperating properly. or you can just go to somplace light les schwab or firestone and they will check your alternator for you. ***dont leave the battery unplugged and idling for very long. this could result in damage to your pcm or electrical system***
