03 Evo 8

Im buying a 03 evo 8 with 81k miles. The car runs and works fine. But while the ac is on the steering wheel will shake alot. What is this? I think the air compressor is loose but im still new to this.
Thanks

whats up i have a 2003 evo too i never had that problem, but my steering wheel was shaking at one point too and mine was from my o ring leaking out power steering fluid so i would check and make sure the power steering is good and make sure the ac is off and take it for another ride with it and see if it still does it. good luck they're great cars

Hey bro, thanks for replying. If the a/c wasnt on it wouldnt shake. Il try that tomorrow. I mean the car runs great and everything, could a 02 sensor cause this?

Could be caused by alot of things. Have you changed the spark plugs recently? If so what did you set your gap to? Also what condition is your engine air filter in?

I just realized you haven't purchased the car yet. Have the owner provide you with the service records and compare them to the routine maintenance the car is suppose to have.

This sounds like it happens only when you are in motion? Do you feel any shaking while the AC is on and the car is idling (not in motion)? Does the vibration increase or decrease with speed or RPMs?

What was the owners response when you asked him about this issue? Has he experienced it before or is he the 'Never happens to me...' kinda seller?
