Exclamation whining when accelerating

Hey guys my car whines when accelerating say in 1st gear is that normal or should I be worried ?

Completely normal if it is the differential you are hearing.

Well depending if the whine gets louder as you accelerate that would mean your transfer case is going out.

Thanks guys for the reply the noise gets quieter when I accelerate (it starts louder then gets quieter)
