Stock vs Iridium spark plugs

Guys, I would like to know if there is an improvement in performance changing the stock platinum heat range 7 to the Iridium heat range 7.
I did not mention 8 because my car is almost stock.
I bought the Ralliart RAY6601 spark plugs, it will be with me in a few weeks.

TampaTurbo is correct, the stock plugs are iridiums.

Do you know the stock spark plug heat range? I thought that was 7!

BTW, Someone here know the difference between the stock and Ralliart RAY6601 spark plugs?

What are the advantages and disadvantages of going one step colder?

Thanks

Thanks

Advantage............can handle more boost without blowing out

Disadvantage........More likely to foul out than the stockers on regular driving.

something to chew on for you guys, i talked to the dealer and was told that even the factory plugs they use are NGK Iridiums. does this mean they use the BKR7EIX? or perhaps some one-off one that NGK specifically makes as OEM for mitsubishi when it comes to Evos?

I have seen the standard copper plugs pick up 10-12whp OVER the iridiums actually.

ngk BR8EIX plugs are excellent and provide a bit more of a safegaurd by being non protruding in the case of detonation. They are also very effective in helping with problematic p0300 cars.

Copper Plugs Does make a bit more power on my car as proven by my butt dyno :P
Hut if you are the lazy type, stick with Iridium stock range which is SEVEN. And stock plugs aer Iridium. Don't ever put the junky Platinum on our car.

Talked to Todd from from Trick Flow Racing (who used my SC Mustang to prototype an exhaust system). He said that on all the forced induction engines they have engine dynoed, he has never seen a decrease in power when going from a standard plug to Iridiums. He said they dont seem to suffer "spark blowout" as easy as a non Iridiums. He also stated no advantage in an N/A engine.
