Which DP would make more torque?

Hi, Im debating over a 2.75inch or a 3inch DP

Which DP would make more torque?

Do you think that if I go with a full 3inch TB I will gain more torque over a

2.75inch DP with a 3inch Test pipe and 3inch Cat back?

I'm realy confused of which one to buy.

Thanks

recently i had a flash done by turbotrix and another dude w/ an evo was getting it done too.... our mods were almost exact and it reflected this fact very straight..... he had the 2.75 DP and i have 3 inch.... he made more torque down low and his power curve was better at low end.... my evo had better power at top end...

all things being equal (always the smaller diameter) b/c the exhaust gasses are being expelled at a faster rate (they have a higher temp). I'vr got Buschur's 2.5" turbo back with muffler delete pipe

I'm looking at the HKS 2.75inch DP

So if you want more torque go with a 2.75inch?

If you want more power up top go with a 3 inch?

IMO Evo has good low end... its the top end that other cars kill the evo

The largest exhaust you can run after the turbo is the best exhaust on a turbo car, end of freaking statement, proven fact time and time again.

Your statements are basically correct.

I have the HKS DP. My car seems to spool up quicker than with a 3" pipe.

You have to ask yourself how you are going to use your car.
If you do normal daily driving, the smaller DP gives more useable power in the rpm range you
spend the most time in.
But if for some reason you drive around with the rpms at 5-7K all the time,
or you want your power curve for track use, or you want that extra few HP on the dyno, then 3" is the way to go.

Unfortunately, accurate comparisons cannot be made between two different cars, period. Even if a comparison were to be made with the same car, one would need to tune the A/F identically for both the 2.75" and 3" pipe to get an accurate idea of how the difference in diameter affected power without any other influences.

AFAIK, David is correct. Unlike a normally aspirated car, whose VE depends on exhaust pulse velocity to draw a vacuum on an adjacent cylinder, a turbo car will want to exit the exhaust gases without hinderance.
