cam gear adjustment

Hey i have to quick questions if you guy can help me and answer

1. if i already had a cutom tune done and i would like to readjust my cam gear from being zeroed out to -3,-3 will that mess my tune up???

2. while the car is OFF and adjusting the cam gear the actual cam bolt slips out of the wrench and goes all the way to -10 by accident remebering the car is off is there any possibilty of a valve being bent ??

1. if your already tuned yes you will need to retune, retarding the intake will cause you to run leaner..i dont know about the exhaust----
i experienced alot of detonation when retarding the exhaust cam, i think the cyclinder pressures were higher and required less timing

2. theres not enouph adjustment in the cam gears to hit the pistons in either the +or- directions...

i have my 272's set at 0 0 and the idle some would say leaves a little to be desired of but i think it sounds absolutely **** nasty!!!! and it making some sick power...how much dont know but its gonna run an 11 this weekend

regards rick

Nahh, as long as you dont turn on the car while leaving all the bolts loose on the came gear. Just loosen the bolts, retard them, and then tighten back up and take it for a spin.
