Vishnu Xede Vs. Works P2

Which tuner would you go with and why? Also, list the pros and cons of each flash.

Apples and oranges here.

The Works flash is a reflash of the ECU. It is not a tuning device, but rather is a static modification to the existing ECU that rewrites its program.

The Xede is a piggyback computer that is user programmable for the purpose of tweaking any combination of mods via a dyno.

The Xede costs more, but you gain flexibility. If you want something to plug in and be done with it, Works flash, Dynoflash, etc. are viable options.

If you want the flexibility of tuning your setup via a dyno to get every last bit of power out of it, the Xede delivers this capability, albeit at a higher cost than a static flash.

Ted B speaks the truth - two different approaches/products. Both different ways to skin a cat.

Ted is right on.......I have used both, and both of them are great products. Figure out what you want to do with it, then make your choice.
If you won't be tuning it, and just want to get it and forget it, get the P2.
If you want to tune your own car the XEDE would suit your needs better.

In the end I chose the P2 since I was not going to tune my own car.

Xede, because I like the idea of running two fuel maps, 91 and 100. A reprogram is different in scope and purpose than a user programable interface. Works has a very nice, perfectly integrated package.

But DavidV's mew book for Dummies didn't say anything too good about the XEDE. Might want to reconsider

David V is being such a hypocrite. What he doesn't say in his book is that he is secretly running an Xede on his MR2 and his BMW.

You forgot to mention the kick-*** tear-out reference sheet of EMS features suitable for framing. Because really if I'm a novice at car modification the first thing I'm going to want to do is see a comparison of standalones on heavy stock paper

I heard my book dyno'd higher than the P2 but lower than the Xede on the Dyno Dynamics dyno.

I'm waiting for Shiv's new book "How to re-calibrate a dyno for peak #s and position the temp sensor for dummies"

Looks like a best seller to me

Flame suit on...
