Leak/Pressure Test...Highly Suggested...Look what I found

Well after having had a very cranky car, clutch didnt like to engage same place, tough getting into 1st gear, terrible gas mileage, bad throttle control (needed more gas to than normal to accelerate), slow spool even after exaust and o2 housing, stalling with the AC, crappy idle, and 4psi of tapering after 5k rpm..

I decided enough was enough.. First I got a Halman MBC in place of my TurboXs which i later learned i did not have the gain set right..but i decided to keep the halman anyway.. This cleared up my throttle control, I used a lot less gas to get the same power as before, it also helped clear my spool up problem.. Also fixed my clutch engagement point (for some wierd reason), gas mileage, and AC stalling, but i still had a great amount of tapering, and my engine was still cranky and annoying to drive..

Then I got a Leak Test.. This is where the mechanic connects a intake tube on your intake hose. On the other side of his tube is a little nipple where he attaches a compressor pump, and feeds certain PSI levels.. As hes doing this, he pours soapy water on all the parts under pressure (Intercooler hoseing, BOV, Injectors, Vacum Lines, etc..)

Well my results came back that my BOV (what a piece of crap) leaks like a bastard at a mere 16psi and couldnt hold more than that.. My Injectors are also leaking pressure a bit, 18psi, much to my suprise. It was said this happens probably because the car is driven at high boost a lot (which i have due to my previous MBC problem in order to get the power I wanted out of it).. So this test showed me why my car was being so sick.

Im taking her to Mitsu to see if i can get Injectors and BOV under warranty. I dont see why they wouldnt, other than having an MBC, which ive never turned up past 19.5.. Im curious if they will let me upgrade to an MR BOV if i pay the difference...

So if your car is being cranky and annoying, take her for a leak test.. I found out a lot was wrong... 27k miles.

yeah I've got my own leak tester that I bought from MachV from my old dsm. I should test the evo out just to be sure everything is operating at 100%.

Take the MBC out before you go to Mitsu. You don't want to risk loosing your warranty for 20 minutes worth of work!
