If my memory serves me right, there is no ALS on the stock EVO. (If you mean the "bang-bang" anti-lag system) However, one of the feature that reduce turbo lag is the twin-scroll turbo...which divided the exhaust gas in two channels going to the exhaust turbine, which reduce the lag during the throttle is lifted.

Anti-lag??
We don't have a anti-lag system(we might be calling it something different) Can you give a more detail description as to what this system is and does (other than obvious) then I take look around here(JAPAN) and see if I can locate one PEACE

Anti-lag could also be called a stutter-box. Basically it would open and close the throttle plate real fast to fake a load on the engine, which in turn, builds boost even while the clutch is in, so you can take off already at like 4-5 lbs of pressure.
Another way to do it, and likely how the EVO would, is the ECU can pull timing to simulate a load condition on the engine. Basically you need to be able to unlock the program in the ECU.

unless you meet the Mitsubishi Motorsports team at a rally, I dont think anybody can make the ALS in the standard ECU work.
Tuners dont bother trying to reprogram the stock ECU; they can just put in a programmable one and make it do whatever they please. Maybe you should look into that?

Hi claudius, i knew a guy who doing those rally on mitsubishi car. He told me that the antilag will introduce if we rev higher then 5000rpm and hold for at least 3 second. Besides that, i read few article which said that the antilag system is not activated in the factory ecu. so which mean, i am confused!!!!

if you have lots of $$$ then get anti-lag because you'll be replacing you turbo all the time. turbo running 7psi on idle rev's strains your turbo like you wouldnt believe but hey it's fun let me tell you. the Motech M8 is what you want.

The Autronics can arguably do the same job as as well as a Motec...and since you are in Melbourne, there sure won't be a problem finding a tuner familiar with the Autronics.
