question about fuel pump on Evo

Hi

I'm just wondering about this article online from RRE, (I don't know if this a repost if it I appoligies)
the link is http://www.roadraceengineering.com/e...elpumpinfo.htm
cause it said that a USDM Evo have a dual voltage fuel pump. does this mean for a regular person who doesn't want to a lot of money to spend on fuel mod, could get away with no buying a FPR when they install a walbro 255 fuel pump ?
I'm just wondering... ? cause with my past cars ( DSM) you have to get FPR to compensate for the higher fuel flow caused by the Walbro or Cosmo fuel pump.
I'm also wondering is this also true on JDM Evo's ?

does also mean that you can't hardwired the evo fuel pump for give it a constant flow ?

I am running without an aftermarket FPR and using the high pressure Walbro 255lph pump. Never had any problems with it.
