unless it blows out on you, you should be able to feel it slipping before it is completely gone

Is slipping mean, when you need to let the clutch out farther, before it engages. now i need to take the clutch 95% before it engages is that a problem?.

When my clutch was going out, I knew because one day I was getting on a freeway, had my gas pedal all the way down in 4th gear, and my rpms rose, then went back down when the clutch caught up. That's when I knew my clutch was slipping. I was able to drive on it another 3 weeks before I got a new clutch put in.

If you test it like this periodically, and don't launch your car, you will probably never get stuck.

I've also heard there is an access plate on the bottom of your tranny that lets you see the clutch. I haven't ever seen this.

Slipping is when you are driving with the clutch fully engaged and it slips. IE you are cruising and give it some gas and the engine revs then clutch grips and you smell a dead clutch :P

Nice,

Well my last question. I need to let me clutch out all they way at 95% before it engages. Is that just adjustment, or might be a problem with my clutch.

I have 23k miles on my Evo and I have to let it out about 90% before it grabs. This isn't much different from brand new Evo which also grabs up top.
As long as it doesn't slip once you let the pedal out fully, it's still good.

i have driven hondas like 5 months, from the time the clutch started slipping to where, i could barely make it home. never been stranded. dont sweat the getting stranded thing. it will slip for days if you baby it before it goes. not that babeing a clutch on an evo is that much fun.

you should be able to adjust where it grabs. atleast you can in every other car ive ever seen. i haven't made it that far in the evo yet.

BUT, that doesn't mean your clutch is going. if you are cruising and give it throttle(without your foot on the clutch), and the car revs(rpms rise) but the car doesn't accelerate....your clutch is dying....
