Anyone install a JDM Front LSD?

I have but haven't tried it out yet (enroute from TRE www.teamrip.com). They're available through www.z1auto.com, it's the ralliart diff.

It won't. Vishnu found that the front TC is a different housing on the USDM model, even for the cars that don't have ACD. No one knows why. Your two options are an RS transfer case or the Quaife that RRE is selling. I've already preordered my Quaife...

We have quite a few customers who have ordered the helical front LSD from us. There are some mods needed to get it in the car, and we can refer you to an installer who can easily do this upgrade for you. This is not an install for the DIY'er - it has to be done by an experienced drivetrain person. So far, everyone who has installed it has fell in love.....it completely transforms the handling abilities of the car. We have a customer who recently ran 1.00 lap times at Lime Rock with this LSD installed....and his car is not substantially modded at all. To put that in perspective, our ITS BMW runs high 1.01's, and its stripped out

RALLIART=Drool
Quiffe=Drool
USDM RS=Drool
The difference between a open and lsd front in an AWD car is even more than that of night and day.
When I put the 6mt in my WRX, it just transformed it. It allowed the car to grip and hold the road like glue. Just awesome. I would love to get one of these in my Evo. It would bring tears to my eyes, considering how well the Evo handles with an open front diff!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't all the 2005 Evo's coming with helical front LSD and ACD? Here's my question, will a 2005 and up LSD fit into a 2003-2004 car? ie be "backwards compatible"? We may not know yet. If so, I'll be waiting for the junkyards to start accumulating 2005s so i can get my hands on one
As soon as anyone tries this please post on here so us poor 2003-2004 non-LSD-havin buggers can find out!
