Why does everyone keep talking about 6.5 turbo, because it's cheap or because they keep forgetting Evo 8 also has Ti as an option?
Its interesting that you mention that.. Because the hybrid I built ultimately is what the new MR JDM turbo is.. it has the titanium components, the larger 10.5 housing (with the revised wastegate flapper, mines the older one) and the new revised compressor cover..

The big problem is the evo 8.5 (EvoMR) JDM turbos are likely going to be expensive, unlike here in the US, most of the rest of the world who got the Evo MR aren't taking the cars apart weeks after purchasing them.. Most purchased those cars to GET the BBS wheels, not remove them.. and most don't upgrade their turbos unless they have to.. So its rare you'll find them unless you buy new.

Its the TD05HRA-16G6-10.5t this is the correct part number for the 16G wheeled TME titanium turbo.. In theory if you looked around and were willing to ship from overseas, you might get one cheaper, but this is a good deal if you don't want to deal with the aggrevation of assembling one yourself.

Also there are two different types of TME turbos, the GSR and RS.
The GSR uses a 15GK turbine and the RS a 16G, both titanium.

Also the evo6 turbos are both the same for the GSR and RS except that the RS has a titanium turbine.
They have revised the turbo again after Evo7 and 1st gen Evo8, even USDM models for 2005 have 10.5 housing on all models not only MR.

Damn, I didn't know the JDM MRs have the titanium turbo option. I'd like to get my hands on one of those! Unless Forced Performance can get the newer 10.5 turbine housing and compressor cover.

~15-20whp. I got 20 on a Dyno Dynamics, but I did a header at the same time and have cams and cam gears in addition to what you have.

Their all "kinda aluminum", its a Titanium Aluminide Composite (I think) Its the same CHRA as all the Titanium turbos..
