BG Synchroshift is awesome

Well after reading a bunch of posts on tranny fluids I chose to go with the BG Synchro Shift. My tranny has no grinding, but it was knotchy on some shifts. I installed a short shifter and bushings about a month ago and that seemed to help out alot. Today I did the tranny fluid change, it was very easy and only took maybe 30 minutes. The tranny shifts so much smoother than it ever did before. The knotchiness is basically gone in all the gears. Overall its a much smoother shifting tranny. I just wanted to post up my experience with this product. I havent tried GM Synchromesh, ot the Pennzoil Synchromesh. All I can say is BG rocks!!

I heard that redline mt-90 is the best way to go since it's fully synthetic and is rated API-4, bg synchroshift is not synthetic and is not API gl-4

Talk to the guys at Road Race Engineering. They actually recommended the original BG Syncroshift over synthetics when I purchased my fluids from them.

The tranny seems to like the non-synthetics better... That's why people should make sure they get the non-synthetic fluid when they go with the GM... as they have a specification for both.

Would this be the best for the 6-speed MR also?

We recommend BG it to all of our customers, and yes, will work on the MR as well. Great stuff.

We use it on our race cars as well.

If you like the BG syncromesh so much, then you would Love the BG Syncromesh II,which is fully synthethic and GL-4 compliant. My tranny was soooooo quiet with that stuff in there, then I replaced the clutch and got cheap and went with Penzoil Syncromesh and my tranny tells me it is spinning.I have to wait till my BG guy comes back in and get some more BG syncroshift II to make my tranny smile once again

mmmmm, I don't know about the II... I was specifically told not to use it. Now if I were not so old, and could remember why...

Yeah I never though that the tranny fluid could make such a huge difference. Also my drain plug had some metal shavings on it, but IU read some other threads and this seems to be normal. My tranny has about 1800 miles on it. Also I do have the original (BG 1). Id say its the best thing I have done for the car yet.
