Injen intake quick Q&A HELP!!

to all those with the injen intake and upper ic pipe kit please put your 2 cents in.

do you have to use the upper ic pipe to run the filter and tube off the turbo, or can you leave out the ic pipe kit and have no problems.

also does anyone else think that any other intake with turbo pipe kit works better or seems to like that specific one better.

pictures are welcome and would be of great help in my decision.

thanks.

i think you might be able use the intake with out the ICpipe. but fitment would be sloppy and some crazy rerouting would have to be done for the bov. or need to run VTA

as far as i know injen in the only setup with IC pipeing as a package. helix, hks etc have prpbably built their intakes / IC pipe to work together, but to buy thoes systems will be expensive.

IMHO the injen is the best intake system out there. they are both made to work together. the setup will look and work better than peicing together 2 different brands of intakes and IC pipes

Just my 2 cents

Dont get it. I use to have it switched over to the HKS intake. And a RVM intercooler pipe. I wasnt impressed with the degree coming out of the throttle body.

Hey Kevin long time no talk to.

I would recommend the HKS intake or the Apexi one.

Later,

Joel

using just the injen intake without the ic pipe is possible, but it is going to be a b*tch. the hks adds no power and makes the car run very lean, actually on a vishnu dyno day at turbotrix, one of the guys had to switch back to the stock air box and he made like 15/20 more hp. so far i have had no problems with the injen set-up, i even got their intercooler to complete everything. oh my car made 330 awhp and i have a cat.

good luck with your choice.

What other mods do you have other than the Injen setup (IC/piping/intake) and was this on pump gas? Thanks! Thats a great number.

The Injen setup is excellent. I would use the entire package though. If you want different cold side(by the filter) piping, I would consider a different mfr.(maybe Apexi) and skip on the Injen...as a kit is is good but to break it up makes no sense.

I have the Injen and love it. You don't notice much of a gain (if any) until you have the car tuned. THEN there'a difference!!!!! Here's an older pic before I had everything else done, but it shows the injen.

Ive had mine on for about 6 months now or whatever and I love it. I thought it was gonna make the car stall etc...But I havent had any problems with it. That and the fact that I was close to buying a BOV and now I dont need one, the stock one sounds like an aftermarket because of the intake

Definately needs tuning to run smooth, especially with the cams. Going to TT this week, incredible snow in the chi.
