Why does the curve get so wobbley up top? It looks like the rollers are playing hell with the center viscous diff.

this dyno is not like other dynojets that have the two different weight rollers that have been know to cause strain on the viscous or center diff. This dyno runs two rollers that are 4500 lbs each which give you a very sensitive and acurate reading from the dyno where as the other dynojets run one 4500 lb roller and one 6500lb roller which actually numb out the dyno run from a heavier mass, creating a smoother looking graph.

Yep, it's very obvious when a car has center diff troubles on a dyno, an Evo especially starts shuddering like mad. I've witnessed this several times on a DynaPack dyno.

We have not experienced any such issues, thankfully. The new design from DynoJet seems to be perfect in that regard, runs are extremely smooth and the whole system is very quiet. The loudest noise on decel is from the tires.

The variation you see in the graph is not an artifact from the dyno, it's real variations in output. Most cars have a very similar variation in graph output. When you have a dyno that can read and respond fast enough on the graph it's amazing the data that you can see in the numbers.

I'm glad you guys are not experiencing problems of the sort that most inertia dynos have with AWD cars. The Dynopack seems to have the same or worse issues at least with some cars. The best dyno for the AWD cars and the most accurate and safe is a load bearing dyno such as the Dynodynamics. I'm not so sure, but it might actually be better to do the FWD conversion in order to use the inertia type dynos.......

Just my $.02

The issues you are referring to on inertial systems are due to a difference in mass between the front and rear rollers.

The new unit that we have (424x) has equal masses front and rear and is a much more realistic load to the drivetrain. Our unit is the 5th one that they have built, it's a brand new design with new controls and an entirely new software console.

nice to see someone who really knows how too tune rather than just lean it out and if it doesn't pull timing it makes some power...

So, up until now, the Dynojet dynos had different mass rollers for the front and back wheels of AWD vehicles?...... That's weird, it seems very counterintuitive.... I'm surprised to hear this. Anyway, congrats on your new dyno. Looks like you have a more useable and accurate tool for the job than the previous versions of Dynojets.....

Ok, I would like to weigh in on a positive note as well. Doug retuned my evo running aem ems, greddy TI exhaust, turbo xs downpipe, race cat, intake and we made over 300whp as well coming from a WTF tune done by a "reputable" company in central florida with the name turbo in it. What a load that map was,...Doug nice naming the old log and map accordingly, Heheheheh...Anyway, TOPSPEED is the shizzle and they know whats up. Drove home at a clip (and smile) unimaginable going up ;-)...

I'll vote for TopSpeed too. They would have my biz if I ever go AEM EMS.

TopSpeed is a great shop. Folks there are awesome. Doug's is a remarkable AEM tunner. His work speaks for itself.
