What about a properly ported Stock exhaust manifold? How will that flow compaired to a tubular manifold?

that is a really shady question unfortunely. It really depends on the turbo you are attaching it to. Will it make a big difference on the stock EVO VIII turbo? No. Will it make a big difference on a much larger turbo? Hell yeah. On my talon I used to run a ported 2nd Generation eclipse ported manifold with an adapter plate for my GT35R. It made great power and spool wasnt all that bad. But when I tossed on a T4 housing on that same turbo to squeeze some more power out of it I needed a manifold sollution. It was then I asked our fabricators to make me an T4 Manifold. Now you can ask anyone in this field if you slap on a larger A/R T4 housing on the same turbo and manifold its going to spool later. So I had them make me an equal length Tubular manifold. Sure enough it not only made more power but it spooled the turbo QUICKER even with that larger housing.

Its all Relative.

I think most of you are a little off on Mr. Shearer's point here. He might not be as cookie cutter about it as you may like but the inherent point is still there.

Eric

I like the manifolds but DAMN I am not spending $600. I think I may have to steal one.

I wish our manifolds were $600. We can't keep them in stock at $1195.

Anyone offering to test these manifolds?

When in doubt, test it. I'd personally like to see these manifolds tested back to back. I'm not limiting this to just their manifolds either. I think RNR, Shearer and AMS manifolds, from the pictures, appear to be of excellent quality.

Aside from HP, Torque and Spool characteristics we would get the answer to how important equal length really matters. (Ron, I understand the principle of your argument. I'm just trying to move thread along to what customers actually care about, performance.)

What we need is an independent testing facility. Anyone?

I agree. I think we should all send a manifold to Victory and let an independent shop put them to the test.

I am sure we would be up for some unbiased product testing. The problem is getting a manifold made that isnt allready sold to someone. we are on a 3 week back order right now.

We have the same problem here. Once we finish this next batch we would be open to this test. I could possibly get D-Sport to publish it as well.

What kind of testing? Bench racing? Measure each runner and make sure it's "equal length". I don't think it really matter much unless you're pushing over 500hp to the wheels. Yes Ron's manifold is an abortion, but I like it. Is it something he is proud of? I doubt it. He made that manifold given a short notice. It gets the job done and I don't understand why all the unnecessary bickering here because the weld's are not purdy.

I don't care who uses what material or how purdy any manifold look. They all crack, even cast one crack. I seen Taiwanese/China sweat shop manifold crack within 2 days of usage. Turbonetics cast manifold crack in 4-5 months right where the collectors is. Though I don't know much about Ryan's manifold or AMS and how long they last. I'm sure they are all quality products. Who cares if they crack or not, as long the manufacture willing to back it up their warranty right?

Scott, I didn't know you still have a shop. Still waiting on those back ordered o2 housing for 3 years now. O well, please cancel them. I'll just make them myself now with what little time I already have.

There was an intake manifold (4g63) shootout that i read about in galantvr4.org a while ago. They did back to back of all popular intake manifolds on the dyno. I think a similar comparison of exhaust manifolds would be cool. Here i found the links for it:
