Error code Po335, need help, car will not start
Anybody have any ideas, this is what happened. I did my second clutch swap along with a set of HKS 272 cams. I installed the cams without a timing belt tensioner tool which means that I had to pull the timing belt and cover off. When it was all done the car wouldn't start. I later found that the spark plugs weren't firing. I bought a code scanner that read the P0335 Crankshaft Position Sensor A Malfuntion. I looked at the sensor and it was damaged, so I bought another one a installed it and I'm still getting the same code, plugs not firing, so I'm left clueless. I need any ideas.

Check all your connections. I had this error when they disconnected my tranmission cables. They forgot to reconnect something in the rear I forget, but it caused the same error. Assuming you are positive all the cables are connected then I have no clue. Maybe a fuse?
#3
I've check every fuse in the car and everything is fine. Are talking about the shift cables or a sensor? There is one sensor that goes to the top of the transmission and the speed sensor at the rear.
#4
Everytime I erase the code, I crank it and get no spark and the light comes on again, is it any thing with the cam install or can I go ahead and bolt everything on the timing side back up?
#6
well you did double check all of your connections correct?? sometimes i have found myself checking all my connections a few times... idk bro. other then check it over, and look at all of your spark plugs idk.. your best bet would be calling Buschur Racing, Vishnu, or TurboTrix, or Dynoflash.. any of those companies would be glad to help you find out

Sounds good, XS was unwillling to help me unless they see the car, seem like all they want is $$$$. I'm not driving to Cali.

BTW, the spark plugs are fine, it seems that if the sensor is not reading it will not tell the coils to fire.

then check your coils... maybe there is something wrong... like one said re check the fuse.. me and my buddy installed his TT and we accidently forgot to disconnect the battery, and we sat there like idiots and checked all the fuses and said they were fine, then we put in a few new fuses and it worked fine.. maybe you should try that, you migh have the same luck as us

Would the plugs not firing throw the same code? I also had the same problem with my TT, but it was one of the bigger fuses under the hood that was obviously fried.

listen to steveevo8 and check the fuses under the hood. i blew a square shaped one (also installing a TT), everything worked (lights, radio, etc) but the plugs wouldn't fire. my car was 2 weeks old and i was panicing. stupid fuse.

Are you sure sensor is lined up right? If the sensor was damaged, maybe there's still something caught down there getting in the way? Or the other part of the sensor on the crank (the indicator/marker that indicates #1 TDC) as the crank reference is damaged?
Never had to peek down there to know for sure if something besides the sensor itself can get damaged but if you get no crank signal, you'll get no timing reference for the ignition or injectors.. Also doublecheck the wiring harness, connector, plug, and the engine harness by the engine and the junction connector near the transmission.
Disconnect the crank sensor and put an oscilliscope or multimeter on it... if its functioning correctly it should get a signal spike as the crank rotates past #1 tdc.. If it doesnt, at least you know its something mechanical with the pickup or trigger..

As far as your cams being lined up correctly, just make sure cylinder #1 is top dead center and then align your cam gears. When I did my friend's integra his cam gears had slashes that you would align on the inside.

when you took the timing belt and cam gears off you should have fastened the belt to the cam gears,so that when you took the gears off the belt came off with them thus keeping the timing setting for when you put the gears on to your new cams.
Im sure your timing is way off that might be part of the problem.

I did use zip ties to hold the gears in place, and the reason the sensor was damaged was the metal plate around the crank was bent in a corner, making a sharp edge that chewed into the sensor, but I bent it back and it no longer hits the new sensor. I checked all the fuses once again with a fuse tester and they were still good. I'll try MalibuJack's idea as it seems like that could be the problem.
