298 WHP at 22 psi on dynojet seems low?
i've just came back from the dyno running at 22 psi with a Tomei reprogrammed ecu, HKS 272 in/ex cams, Walbro 255 l/hr pump, AFC2, SARD regulator, stock turbo, stock injectors, 2.5 inch downpipe, Greddy 3 inch cat back, 2.5 inch cat delete pipe and came back only with 298 whp at 11.5 A/F ratio.
This seems low compared to what most of the guys here are pulling. The graph seems very wavy at the top and I was told because the AFC2 is used to richen the mixture up top( which on actual it was) timing is retarded causing the low power figure.
I was thinking of running 700 cc injectors to lean out on the AFC to increase timing? Will this work? Iwas hoping to reach about 330 to 340 ATW on the dynojet but dunno if this is possible..
Any ideas??

Yes seems quite low for your mods (your tune needs tweaking) Plus I believe your 2.5" dp/cat delete are restricting your flow also. I dynoed 295/298 on awdynojet @ Turbo trix. I only have a 3" catback, aps bov,K&N drop in, Mbc set @ 20lbs, wb 255 fp

I have pretty much the same thing as tomei and I made 307/294
i get fuel cut off on anything over 20psi, not sure why.
going to get bigger injectors and raise the boost some, as well as cam gears.

I have about the same thing you got, minus cams & 3" turboback, and I made 292whp on an S-AFC2 alone. Maybe because of our wonderful/crappy winter gas that hinders your car's performance?

Dynojet offers two types of awd dyno, the first being a 248 2wd with a 224 awd attachment. This dyno has one large red roller and on smaller black roller, and reads a bit higher (most shops in the USA use this dyno). DynoJets other dyno is their new 424x (only 6 in the usa but many in other countries) which has two black rollers that are similar in size. The 424x dynojet with both black rollers tends to read a bit lower, from what I have seen it reads about 15-20 whp more than the Dyno Dynamics. Here at the shop we use the 424x dynojet and your numbers for the mods are normal for what we have seen on this dyno (424x). My guess is since your overseas you dyno'd your car on the 424x dynojet since it is the most widely used out side of the united states.

that sounds about right to me. that exhaust system is hurting you, also, i don't know anything about a tomei tuned ecu, so can't help you there. but, your idea for more power isn't gonna work. first off, you have no way of advancing the timing, and fuel injectors are not maxing out on the stock turbo ESPECIALLY at that boost level. You might want to lower the boost a tad if your runs were on pump fuel, as the ECU may have been pulling timing because of the higher boost.

Car's running on 97 RON octane fuel, its different compared to the states where the octane rating is ( MON + RON ) / 2. I recently just upgraded the front pipe and cat delete pipe to 3 inch and I couldn't believe how much difference that makes at the top. Car runs fine but as I said the timing might be pulled out due to the richen up settings above 5K on the AFC2. I'm thinking of bigger injectors like the 660 or 700. I know that you guys ran the 660 with good success but are the 700's too big?

SAE corrected? Not too sure about that.. Weather is sure hell as hot and humid here but for comparison purposes, I just saw an JDM Evo 7 dynoed at 292 WHP at 19 psi and thats with a programmable HKS F CON S.. His torque figures are a lot less though at 34 kgm compared to mine at 39 kgm but I would be pretty sure that he'll end up at about 320 WHP at 22 psi though.. I guess the AFC is affecting it.. I'll try disconnecting the AFC and running it straight up on the ECU only and see whether its any better..

Disconnecting the SAFC is a good idea. But then again the Tomei reprogrammed ecu is tuned for 100 RON in Japan. Cam settings? Well, there aren't too much you can do with a pair of HKS 272 in/ex but I'll be lucky to get 10 more out of it..
I'll run it again this week with and without the SAFC on the new 3 inch front section. Hopefully, we;ll see some more hp gains..
