Big turbo guys in here

I have been waiting for a GT35R compressor housing(cover) from Garrett to show up with no luck. They are on a national backorder. So i was wondering what are my options out there to complete this project. I was looking at three replacments:

1. HKS T04R with .81 A/R on the turbine side.
2. Greddy T67 TD06 25G with .86 A/R on the turbine side.
3. Turbonetics T66 or T70 Turbo or the new 68-1 design they have.

The car has a built engine with modified heads and valvetrain to handle 8600RPM shifts and AEM standalone with all the goodies(1000cc injectors, custom fuel system, etc....). So im looking for a turbo to put me in the 450-500whp (21-24psi) pump gas with the aid of alky and close to 600whp race gas 30-33psi. So which choice do u think is the best power/dollar too between the three turbos i listed. If u have any other turbos in mind please post them and their specs. Thanks.

The 35/40r .63 is throwing up 600 figures on one of the cars in here.

Edit: Tell me about the motor, I might have something for sale...

Who are you working with? National backorder eh?

I was decided on the GT35R already, but not finding the compressor housing is making me change direction now. Why can u get me a compressor housing from Garrett really fast? That would make it alot easier for me.

Did you try Precision turbo? They usually carry Garrett parts.

You sure that is a big enough turbo for you? I have the .70 a/r version (I guess a medium gt35r). I would think you would want a t78 or even a t88. I got mine from AMS, but I got lucky because somebody backed out of their order. I am not sure how much backorder they have.

Shaun at Extreme Motorsport is working on the car. Anyways i got a call from him saying that he did secure a compressor housing and it should be here next week. So i guess i will wait and see what the GT35R would put us. Shaun knows what he is doing so i trust him fully. I just wanted to see the options out there just in case we didnt get the housing. I was really leaning towards the HKS T04R, but i couldnt find anyone here that run that turbo.

The motor has lower C/R (8.1) forged pistons and rods. cleaned up heads with dual valve springs. AEM standalone and ignition. 1000cc injectors, fuel rails and fuel pumps. Huge intercooler. Mechanical cutout after the 3"DP through a stock exhaust. 272/272 HKS cams and the list goes on and on including a a clutch, flywheel, et..... I can't recall every single parts we have in the car... I will have to go back to the car file. The plan was shifting around 8600rpm and making 450-500whp pump gas with alky controled via AEM NOS controller and close to 600whp on race gas.

You are running a T78 on your EVO now? When do u spool the turbo and whats the turbine A/R?

I was thinking about it, but i really dont like their compressor design. I have yet to see great numbers for a TD06 25G T67 just yet. I think the Turbonetics T66 or T70 would do a better job than the Greddy T67.

No I have a .70 A/R version of the Garret gt35r. You should at least get the gt40r. a T78 on an EVO would spool so slow it wouldn't be practicle. Even the T67 is too big really. I was recommending it for the T78 or T88 greddy turbo for the LS1.

Oh u meant a Greddy turbo lol... We are going to run a .86 A/R if i remember correctly. I hope this will help the turbo holds boost up to redline.

So what's going to be faster? The Z or the Evo? You should run a high 10 in the Z28 on slicks if you've got the drivetrain bulletproofed. Glad to see another modded Evo/modded Z28 owner in NoVA. My Z is a lot slower than yours (best 12.2@113 NA) though.
