Pulling Timing Error

Hey guys, I was told i had a Pulling Timing problem with my evo, in third gear, shortly after my turbo spools and i hit around 4000 rpm, it seems like the turbo bogs for like a sec, then it picks up again. and then at 4th gear it does the same thing around 3500 rpm. How or what do i do to solve a pulling timing problem? Thanks in advanced guys.

Could it be the colder temps and crappy winter gas?

Did you recently install a TBE w/ no MBC? Mine likes to jump around the boost levels a bit just because the ECU is confused with the extra flow...so it sorta does the same thing, but it's a bit more random than your's sounds, just an idea

sorry, I only have a Turbo XS RFL BOV, I don't think it is that because i've had it on for monthsbefore this started to happen. Everything else on the evo is currently stock.

You maybe having some leak: upper ic connections, your aftermarket bov, or check your vacuum hoses.

It's your TurboXS. Every single one of those I have seen can't hold steady boost. Get a Hallman MBC. Rock solid.

Re-Read that evotexas. He has a TurboXS BOV not a boost controller.
If you are stoclk I would dump the BOV for a stock or a MR one.

Sounds like the ecu is hearing some knock and pulling back timing

A SURE FIRE WAY to test this theory

Let the tank go almost empty and pour in a couple of gallons of 100 octane of better race fuel - reset the ecu by disconnecting the battery for a coupe of minutes and then see if the problem goes away

If its a knocking issue - I can fix it with a reflash of your stock ecu - you can try a mail in flash for $199 or come down to Pruven for a fully custom tuned flash with 2 hours of dyno time for $299 on sale right now

Thanks
