Should i lower my boost????

I got my AMS turbo back exhaust and will install it tomorrow. I've heard a full exhaust will raise your boost automatically. Im currently boosting 20 until redline with the help of a hallman MBC, yet i dont wanna blow up my motor if this is true. Any help? also what do you think of this exhaust if you have it? looks good so far.

chances are you won't blow your motor but your ecu might just pull timing... which means you're not running very efficiently. what octane gas are you running...

With a hallman in place your boost shouldnt raise with the new exhaust installed- you should be fine!

I believe if you are still using the stock solonoid to control boost - it would raise a few psi.

Should i lower my boost????

I got my AMS 3" TBE and i heard it would raise my boost automatically. Im currently boosting 20 to redline with the hallman MBC. Is this true or not? Also is running 20/19psi to redline safe in the evo? thanks

If you are uncertain, turn it down, and bring it back in small incriments till desired boost level is attained. Walk before Run theory.

Im pretty sure that adding a tb exhaust will actualy lower your boost since there is less load on the engine. When i had my exhaust without a boost controller I was hitting 1.2 bar(17.5 psi), which is lower than stock by 2 psi.

an exhaust will lower your boost if anything, not raise it.

This is incorrect. Opening up an exhaust on a turbo application will promote more flow through the turbine wheel which will raise boost. This is an oversimplified explanation but it is a true one. I have owned 4 turbo cars and worked on hundreds. Anytime I have put a more free flowing exhaust on a turbo car the boost has risen.
