The best way to store race gas?
I know alot of you out there need the bennifits of high octane gas to reach power potentials i.e.C-16, VP import, or Turbo Blue. In my area only Turbo Blue 110 octane isavailable at the pump. I need more octaneforhigh boost! How do you guys store the race gas???? So it does not blowup your garage and house. I know you can buy this stuff in 55 gal. drums. Any help would be appreciated.

Its kind of your call as to whether you feel safe about storing a drum in your garage or not.
I have a warehouse for work where I store my Torco drums. The key is to have a space that doesn't see sunlight and where the temperature stays at a fairly constant temp. If kept sealed up, the gas can last for a really long time under these conditions.

Thanks mike, I wish I had a warehouse, but I don't. It sounds like a crap shoot storing race gas in my garage in the hot summer months. Oh well, I guess i'll figureit out

This may sound stupid but I guess if I had to choose between the basement and the garage, I would choose the basement. The drums are completely air tight so I don't think there would be any real fumes. Also, the temperature and light would be controlled. Lastly, you would have less chance of an idiot doing something near it if it wasn't in the garage.
