HKS EVC 5 settings and offset ?
This is a ? for those of you who have or have used the HKS EVC 5 boost controller. I have one installed in my car and am a little confused about the offset settings. The offset can be set from 0-200. Does setting the offset value higher mean reaching max boost faster or does setting the offset value higher mean slower boost?
I've tried adjusting the value from 125-70 and it seems like the boost kicks in faster in the lower values, but I'm not sure from reading the manual.
Right now my daily driver settings are ~19psi
- gain set at 50
- offset set at 70
It peaks out at around 21 pounds then drops to a little over 19psi. What settings are everyone else using?
P.S. This is on a car w/ stock turbo/intercooler, turbo-back exhaust, dynoflash, Walbro 255 fuel pump, tubular manifold, RVM intercooler pipes.

Oh man, I was just reading through the manual a couple days ago and had it set it at A - 100 & B - 90 and still had no idea whether it was too high or not. This is some good info, now I can go turn that little bastard up!

I had this boost controller on my car and loved it. It seemed when I ran a higher offset the boost seemed to kick in more linear. But when I talked to HKS they said to run it at 100. To be honest I really liked when the offset was around 150 to 170, its just feel like the more boost kicked more smoothly. Thats my thought.

Okay....I have my warning set to 21 psi
Mode A (low boost) is at 36%
Mode B (high boost) is at 72%
I went out and just put my offset on both mode A & B from 100 to 150. Honestly I didn't even seem to notice a difference in spool or smoothness. I did notice that after I did that my boost wasn't as high anymore. I ended up turning high boost up to 82% and then it was fine boost wise. Is the boost suppose to go down like that?
I took everything and put it back to 100 til I can see what everyone else is doing, has done, or will do.

Do all you guys have psi version or kpa. I have the kpa and a shop set it up for me and I am trying to figure it out. I tried the manual and it confused me. Right now my warning is 145 (21psi) kpa and the A volume is set at 68 and B volume 26 (low boost). Is this my offset i take it? Also, how do I just turn up the boost in general. My car peaks at about 134-138 kpa 19.5 - 20psi usually. I will be going to an alcohol injection and I need to figure the control out.
