Hks 280 Cam Specs
Here are the specs i have for the HKS 280's
Intake
Duration of 280 deg
Duration of 222 deg @ 1mm lift
Lift of 10.8mm
Exhaust
Duration of 280 deg
Duration of 222 deg @ 1mm lift
Lift of 10.2mm
I also have video of my car with the HKS 272/272 combo, Tomei 260 with 11.5 lift combo, and now the HKS 280/280 combo all done at idle showing the vacuum and how the idle sounds. So people can hear the difference since it seems that is a big thing when people buy cams. Anyway i will get those up within the next couple days.

What turbo are you running ? I am curious about if it would be okay to run the 280's whith the stock 16g. I plan on getting the 10.5 hotside and have the other bolt ons and i dont really care about the idle, id rather have it lumpy. I will evenutally upgrade the turbo but dont know how soon. And what do you think of the 280's, by the way thanks for getting these vids im sure many will appreciate your help.

I personally wouldnt recommend these cams on a stock turbo setup. Best cams i have found for the stock turbo has been the Tomei Procams. The JUN are also very very good and agressive for a stock turbo setup or a aftermarket setup.
If you are going to use the 280's with the stock turbo you are going to lose tons of bottom end and you wont be able to utlize the power of there top end. These cams have a power band up to 10100rpms according to the cam card. As we all know the stock turbo has problems reving to the stock limiter without running out of juice. But thats my opinion. If you are going to get a bigger turbo soon and you can deal with have a loss of bottom end and not see much of a change on top end then i would jsut get them now to say you the hassle down the road. But if you are not planning on getting a bigger turbo for 6 months to a year i would just wait agian IMO.

Ya i have been following that thread. If you look at it on paper you would lose allot of bottom end but i got my 280's in last night and all i can say is wow. The whole transistion is allot better then the Tomei's. It doesnt feel like i have lost anything down low or in the middle but top end cams alive very nicely. So good job HKS with the 280's now im going to get a set of the Tomei 280's with 11.5 lift to see how they compare. Wish me luck!

Thanx. Allot of hard work but it is all worth it. I got a video from along time ago when the engine was stock with the turbo kit i put down 512whp but i have nothing new with the new engine. Very soon though.
Anyway i dont know if you noticed but listen to the Tomei video and you can hear the lifters bad. When i changed cams i cleaned them out with diesal and installed them agian. Now listen to the HKS video and you will notice there is no lifter noise. NICE!!!! This is the second time i have cleaned the lifters out and it always solves this problem for about a couple thousand miles. What a pain!
