adding TBE affect gas mileage?

I used to get 180 miles average per tank but I notice it has dropped to about 160-170. Do you think it has to do with the TBE? I am running no cat.

A full Tb Exhaust if anything will gain you GAs milage, if you do not boost it and ddrive normally. If you get on it, you will have worse milage.

I have a TBE with no cat and I can't seem to stay out of boost, so gas mileage on my car is very low now. lol

to all that are replying it would be nice when you give your mpg, if you would state wether it's mostly highway or city (light to light), dont scare this guy with 220-250 mpg. i get 170-180 city driving, i took it for a trip once and got around 300 mpg. with tbe no cat

derek888: i think if thats city driving you are ok.

It's probally because you've having a bit more fun with your TBE If you stay out of boost you can get higher MPG.

If you're not in boost all the time, then your gas mileage should definitely increase.

if you cant fill up and hit the highway and go ABOUT 300 miles to the full tank, not under boost than your car is smoking something. thats only 21 mpg.

stop smoking something you are talking about a long time ago

I usually get about 250-270 on about 12 gallons nice mix of highway and city driving and some thrashing thrown in for good measure. works out to about 22.5mpg. I have seen 26 (once).

hey... if you want better gas mileage... just get a safc and learn to use it like a pro... then you can always optimize run nice and safe a/f and never worry about spitting out expensive gas out the tail pipe blackening your bumper.

That's what I get sometimes more, but never less. It has to do with the way your driving.

One thing I do notice with the TBE is that my car warms up much quicker in the morning. Which is great! Gas mileage seem to be the same but I do drive my car harder with the exhaust on, so I assume if I drive normaly I would be saving more gas but then again who cares? Car sounds so great at WOT!
