Smelling clutch during shifts

Since I have had the GT30 on the car, I have not had that "Snap your head back" feeling when shifting. What I have experienced has been the smell of clutch in its place. Does this mean my clutch is gone? Or am I making too much power for the clutch to grab properly? Please advise. Thanks in advance for your help.

do your revs climb, but your car isnt pulling. If so your clutch is slipping and you need a new clutch.

Yes, I have the stock clutch. I am not sure what "slipping" feels like. I don't feel like it's clamping down. After driving with my friend in his G35, I realized that my clutch doesn't grab as good as his. Will the ACT clutch survive with my setup? I don't race at all. I just drive aggressively at times. The car has about 9000 miles on it. Please advise.

Uhhh DUH?

The STock Clutch is a 2100 pound unit, barely enough for a stock Evo. Now you add more torque and WHP, you 100% will need a new clutch. It may even be in great condition, just not strong enough tto handle the WHP you are throwing at it. You may not have the best tune either as you may have been slipping on the tune

Thanks for the info. So do you think the ACT will survive. (should be a sub $1000 installed part, right?) Not trying to dump much more money in the car, but would like to enjoy my modifications.

how much whp are u making? the act street clutch is rated at 495lbs-ft of torque so as long as u are around 400whp u will be fine with it.

Not sure on power that I am making. I would assume its less than that. I have pretty much a Buschur Stage 4 car with GT30R. I will probably run by AMS and get their input when I get a chance.

Get urself The best clutch money can buy as you know LABOR isnt cheap if u can aford a 3000 Dollar clutch get it if not then go for the best clutch YOUR money can buy trust me.

I was making 320 whp and i changed my clutch to a EXEDY TWIN PLATE 1800-2000 with labor and now i am thinking about a turbo kit when i am close NOW to 400 whp i think i might need a stronger clutch well see...
