#1 Neo
1-800 - 959 - 7757
CA.
#2 Spectro Golden M.G.
1-800-243-8645
Spectro Oils of America, 993 Federal Rd. Brookfield, CT. 06804
These are my recommendations for "superior" 10w30 motor oils. Yes they cost a bit extra but the life of these oils is expponentially longer than conventional store bought oils. And the performance characteristics of these oils speaks for itself.

hi,
Could someone comment/explain the various ratings please. Like a higher value for x is "good" and a lower value for y is "bad".
I've had good experience with NEO RHD for my GL-5 tranny fluid.
Thanks,
FB

Flash Point= an oil's flash point is the temperature at which "a flame appears and instantaneously propagates itself over the entire surface. The oil flashes because a flammable mixture results when it is heated sufficiently, causing vapors to emerge and mix with oxygen in the air.
Pour Point= The lowest temperature (in °F or °C) at which a liquid remains pourable (meaning it still behaves as a fluid).
%ash=A high ash content will tend to form more sludge and deposits in the engine
%zinc= available research shows that more zinc does not give you more protection, it merely prolongs the protection if the rate of metal-to-metal contact is abnormally high or extended. High zinc content can lead to deposit formation on your valves, and spark plug fouling.
An amazing article on the topic of motor oil http://www.vtr.org/maintain/oil-overview.html (I suggest saving it to "favorites" in your web browser)...

For those that are interested, the NEO 10w30 motor oil is $35/gallon And it will absolutely destroy the poo out of M1, Redline, AMSoil, etc. A very worthwhile investment in my book, and the oil is specific to Turbo applications... Here's more info for the skeptics... http://www.neosyntheticoil.com/

75-90 HD http://www.neosyntheticoil.com/75w90hd.htm It's all there, just browse around http://www.neosyntheticoil.com/site.htm These products are amazing. For example the motor oil is good for 25,000 miles or 1 year (whichever comes first)
