Act Hdss Feedback

For all those people who's looking for a clutch, or can't decide, I like to let you know that ACT HDSS clutch is about 10 times better than stock clutch.

This clutch is easy to drive daily, with enough clutch pressure and when you take it to the drag strip, it'll hold its integrity while slipping at high RPM.

Man, I'm so happy with this clutch and I can't believe how much it could hold.

So anyone considering the alternative to those expensive twin plates, this clutch is the way to go.

With 12 runs at the track + 4 the night before, a total of 16 hard launches, the clutch barely smells a burning smell.

I believe if you know how to launch your car with this clutch, it'll last for a long time without sacrificing driveability or longevity as well as shocking your TC and transmission (lets see in long term).

I had them for 4 months now, it's great. Just wanted to share.

Thanks.

lol. hey, you could sponsor the evolution owners club of GA!

We need a sponsor like you.

Besides, I like your clutch better than exedy twin, on how it drives on traffic and daily. Different feeling.

I had my doubts, but now with experiencing them, i'm a firm believer. We're putting ACT HDSS on my gf's evo as well.

Thank you.

plokivos,

Longer term update. I have 10,000 on mine. Still hooks the same as when I installed it. I have lanched close to 20 times on it with no problems. Your right about it not smelling like crap. When I used to lanch with the stock clutch it would stick up my car big time.

I would go highrev's with some slip. It is better to abuse the clutch than the TC.

Is this clutch different than the "EVO 8 ACT 2600# Clutch Kit " that Buschur sells? They will be the ones installing my clutch and I wanted to buy it there... here is a pic if this helps

Ok cool.. I will definately go with a resurfaced or chromoly flywheel.

I had an act clutch in my celica gts with a fizdanza flywheel.. the car was almost impossible to launch and the clutch warped very quickly... This was probably due to a very light aluminum flywheel and possibly a bad install.

Thx for the tips!

Correct me if I am wrong, but ACT does not offer a 2600 lb PP for the Evo. They offer a 2900 lb. The 2600 was for DSMs.

^^ i think you may be right, because one of my buddies with an old talon TSi had the 2600 and i told him its not called that anymore, so it may be different. I think it is 2900 lb.
