What's the difference between this and the decel noise???

With my car, before the t-case broke, there was no decel noise when the car was in neutral coming to a stop. When the t-case went, there was a whine when the car came to a stop in neutral. When I was driving on the interstate and I would tip into the throttle a little and the t-case would whine really loud. At 80 mph there was a constant and loud whine. I did not get the "marbles in a can" sound with my t-case broken, just the loud whine.

Hope this helps.

Good to hear cause i dont have that loud consistent whinning sound and it doesnt do it either when i put it in neutral. The only noises i hear are the decel noises.

that wa-wa sound you guys are referring to..

does it sound like you're dragging something or like your brake pads are rubbing with your rotors?

if so, my tc is shot.

freaking ridiculous considering i've never launched the thing at all.

A very large percentage of t-case failures arent from launching or hard driving. A good portion are from wrong fluids and bad tolerances from the factory. This is prolly one of the reasons why they went with the ACD case in 05.

Your pads can whine rubbing on your rotors? What's it feel like when your TC is going out, any lack of power or anything? My car started whining on decel a bit louder, and a bit on accel, but I don't think it's the TC, cuz everything feels just fine, but it definitly could be the pads rubbing a little, the rotors are warped a teenie bit...
