Hmm, I tried to order one and got the same treatment as Kwman. Does someone want to sell me theirs, or let me rent it? I'll pay for all the shipping, too. I have to have my cams installed by the beginning of May for my tune.

That's funny. The guy I talked to said I had to buy it through a distributor. He also said they were out of stock, and the part was being discontinued. What the hell is their problem? I guess the employees just make stuff up as they go along.

^I think you're right. I've been trying to get my hands on one for 4 months now and didn't feel like paying out the *** for it. I ended up driving around town to all of their "distributors" (napa, carquest, advance auto, autozone, etc.) half of them tried to tell me they didn't distribute the parts, i got so fed up i was asked to leave one of the advance auto parts stores because i took their keyboard and put in item number: 6001 and it came up but it was out of stock. I finally ordered one from carquest for $32.50 and it won't be here till next week...i love dumbasses and i especially love the 300% profit margin they made on their PIECE OF THREADED ROD. When i get it and use it I'm going to see about machining them and selling them for like 5 or 6 dollars. Once i get it in (next month) i'll make a few to match and let you guys know.

...i'm a little late on this one, but you can make your own by threading the battery tie down from a 2g dsm. My tensioner is currently holding my roommate's battery down

The battery tie down trick will bite you eventually. It doesnt have material out enough to fully engage the threads and will eventually gall up and get stuck in the motor.

If you realized the difference between a real quality tensioner tool and a $2 piece of threaded rod, you would understand the price difference. We dont make these things for $5 bux and sell them to get rich, they really do cost alot to make.

I realize that they are hard to make, the only thing that gets me is why they are listed for 8.99 and i cant get one for less than 30?
