Remove resonator?

Debating if i should remove the resonator in my Hks Hi-power catback. Its kind of quiet now, how loud will it get if i cut it off, im thinking about doing it.

do it do it. I have the same test pipe and cat back. I would love to hear what you think after doing it. What dp are you using?

i've got the helix dp, perrin test pipe, hks hi power... at WOT... it sounds so perfect... why fix something when it ain't broken?

I have factory downpipe still. Dont know how loud it will get with the DP, dont think it will b/c my friend has the same catback with full exhaust and it sounds the same as how mine is now.

those things could get loud, i wouldn't do it.

the hks mid pipe is hollow isn't it? what exactly would you be eliminating? i thought it buldged out like that just to create that distinct "hks" sound?

Yea your right! I heard its hollow, thats why it has that deep tone to it. I guess i wont be removing it then, but will be cutting off the reducer at the end of the pipe!!

I dont think it would get that loud!!! The HKS catback is already quiet as hell as it is

If you do decide to cut it, sell the resonator to me, i have the Helix and it is loud without it.

chop that end piece... good choice... make it that full 3" that they claimed in the past... it'll get slightly louder... sound a lil better... and supposedly have a nice power gain... although i didn't notice a difference

Did you cut the reducer of your HKS Hi-Power? It got louder? How can it get louder from just cutting that piece out? Thanks
