ALL RECALLS FOR 2003 EVO's
If you own an 03 bring your car in!!! here are the recall codes to give to the dealership:
C0409Z: Fan Controller
C0303H: Oxygen Sensor(this is the one that will cause your car to randomly idle oddly and stall...like if i have a car with deep toned exhaust next to me and they rev. it my car will idle all nuts then stall....dont think yours does...try it!!!))
C0401H: FMVSS Certification
_______: ECU Wiring Harness seal...im not sure the code on this one but corporate will tell you!!!
Just thought I'd let you guys know...i called biggers mitsu (a local dealership) and they told me there were NO recalls on the vehicle then I spoke with corporate who then informed me of them....
Corporate Mitsu:
800-222-0037 Option 2, then Option 1, have the last 8 digits of your VIN # and they will tell you if it has already been serviced for the recall or not.
GOOD LUCK!!!

well from what ive heard when a harley or something with a loud exhaust revs it beside you its your knock sensor thinking its hearing knock and pulling your timing i wouldn't think that your 02 sensor has anything to do with that.

o2 sensor has nothing to do with the loud noise. I have a simulated o2 and my idle dips with loud ambience.
Thats more of a maf thing.
but there is an o2 sensor recall. Its to check to see if the ecu harness is leaking. If i remember correctly.

The reason the car stalls next to loud vehicles is that the vibrations interrupt the MAS signal. The MAS determines airflow by measuring the vibrations of a wire after an obstruction. The vibrations caused by the loud exhaust distort the reading, causing your car to stall. The only thing that will help that is setting your car up with a speed-density type MAS.
