Yes, we are going with the above ground MD-AWD-500 dyno. This one uses ramps to load the car.

We are told we can have it within about 7 weeks.

Dave,
I had a Mustang it is simply the best I have used and for real tuning nothing else is close. You can drive off the dyno and be good on the street. BTW I do know how to work the numbers so ................

I have no desire to know how to manipulate anything. I never knew on our Dynojet either.

I guess when you can make real numbers there is not need to cheat

You sell your dyno Mike? Where is the "new" stuff?

Precision,

Would you do me a favor? Can you post a dyno graph of an EVO, your choice which one with the "on the street" graph of HP and the Dynojet simulation HP on it. I am curious.

Precision Dyno: We had a stock Evo on a Mustang Dyno is Mooresville NC. It made 180, 182, and 184 awhp on the three runs. All the other Evo's were very low.

It is our only AWD dyno in NC and it is known statewide that it reads rediculouly low. Is there a way to manipulate the numbers that it reads extraordinarilly low??? Or is this dyno just a messed up one?

Congrats on the new dyno. We have a AWD Mustang down here and it seems to read with all kinds of crazy numbers cause they mess with stuff on it. There was a stock STI that put down 291 hp on it.

They charge $75 for three runs, but I can't make myself spend that kind of money on wrong numbers. If you have a dyno day, I'd more than likely take the 5-6 trip just to hang out with some EVO guys and finally get some real numbers out of my car using the inertia mode.

The above ground takes up an awsome amount of space. The shop that has one here it takes up about 1/3 of the usable shop space. Good luck.

This gives the guy a chart to compare to his Dynojet pulls he gets or has had on those or with his friends that have done that.

It isn't manipulating, I asked Mustang about it and it is set up to actually be run like this. Converts the Mustang to pure inertia dyno right? No load. I think it is a very useful feature for comparison.

I gave them my word today that as soon as I hear from the bank the deal is done. I am told it will take no more than 7 weeks to have the dyno at our shop and installed. 5 weeks is more realistic I am told.

I am really-really looking forward to this.

We have another 500+ whp EVO at the shop now that needs to be tuned on the street. It is getting very crazy.

The MD that read 180 whp on a stock EVO is rediculously low.

The MD that read 260 whp is about right with what we see on our Dynojet. We have seen 236 and 256 with bone stock EVO's on ours. Have seen 250's on stock EVO's on Dynapak's too.

I don't know about racking in the money but we are doing alright. Just financing it through the bank, they have the money I do know that without this we could stand to loose some business to other shops for AWD tuning I'm not going to have that happen.

And lose $$$/checks to the 5.0 for street tuning

Do you know if a boost leak, vaccuum leak, issues, etc can be detected from a dyno run?

Our local Mustang dyno here generally reads betweeen 200-220 awhp for a stock Evo. While the numbers aren't all that impressive, the dyno has been fairly consistant.

I've build a couple of custom maps sets (maf/fuel, boost, ignition timing) and worked out some unique cam timing (for my old set of Piper cams) on our local dyno (RS Motors in MN) and had great results driving those settings on both the street and track.
