ok, what the hell. I'm gonna run few wots tonight with the new plugs, and let you guys know how the new plugs look like.
I've already unhooked my safc. I'm sick of looking at that damn knock sensor.
if it blows, i'll let it blow.
it could be the a/f sensor...

Orig plugs look lean >white/ash color is NG If they were taupe in color I say your tune is almost or right on. Anything below or dark in color is Rich and too much fuel. If you have more than 10-15k on the plugs a new set would be a good idea.

On a normally aspirated car your spark plugs would tell you your timing was to far advanced. You want a bit of color out to the bend of the ground strap on anything but a dragster.
Your fuel would be a bit rich, you want the porcelain to be colorless all the way down to the bottom of the well. With just a thin ring of soot at the base of the porcelain.
On a turbo car this may or may not be true.

These plugs are almost useless to read, as for what I can see timing looks good (colored mark on grounding strap) other than that you can not read these plugs they have to many miles. Cars change daily and so does the tune the soot on the bottom might have been there from last year who knows. I do know the grounding strap should not be white. Only way to read them correctly is to install a fresh set do a full throttle pull and shut it down at WOT. Pull a plug and check it.

I agree I was just about to finish what I said. I don't know how you get a good pull with modern cars. How do you do a wot pull and shut it off right away, guess you just do the best you can.
looks to me like the ground strap could have a bit more color towards the bend, but then again maybe not.

I see pink coloring around the center porcelein. That to me says lean.
Now don't laugh when I tell you why. The car is lean and the cylinder temperatures are up. Because of the heat the detergents in the gasoline are seperating from the burnable fuel and fusing to the porcelein. Do you get your gas at the same place all the time?
Besides that I also agree that they look lean based on the ground electrode. Carbon around the base at the threads means nothing. It's very common.
