I also recommend changing it around 5000 miles. Pennzoil really helped my notchy shifting, but my grinds came back after roughly 5000 miles, and is getting worse by the week. I haven't changed my Pennzoil in 13,000 miles though. I'm just gonna wait til I hit 2000 more miles, and then go by the routine of changing out tranny fluids every 5000.

Anyways, I would also like to learn about BG.

the 2 is synthetic and 1 is not I believe. I'm using the 1, works great. Most of the DSM community has been using it because they believe it is easy on the bearings too!

So what are everyone's recommendations concerning the fluids to use in each of the following:

Brand/Part Number/Weights?

- Transmission
- Transfer Case (Front Diff.)
- Active Center Diff. ('05)(In Transfer Case I Think?)
- Rear Diff.

Sorry, I'm just a little lost when it comes to this type of thing, but I'd like to do mine when I hit 10K. (couple hundred miles away)

You can get penzoil at autozone and the Diaqueen at the mitsu dealer, or at lancershop.com

How often dose the owners manul say to change the fluids? I am at 26k and am on the orignal fluids.

Transmission fluid? Pens synch

TC/Diff? Diaqueen

The shop manual recommends tranny and drivetrain fluild changes every 30k miles under normal usage.

I use Pennzoil Synchromesh in my tranny and Diaqueen in the t-case and rear diff.
