thanks g8r...
i caught up with a buddy during lunch... he has the same set up as well.. he somewhat had the knock... but not quite as loud as mine... it has been brought up that i'm just being too **** about the new mods to the car...
then again... that doesn't explain the idle dipping like that

Two things....the tick in the 4G63 is very common. I had it in my 98 GSX and I have it on my Evo.
I also get the idle dip when I slam my hood, but only for a second. Timcatz u said that could be a bad MAF sensor? I have an intake now, i dont remeber if it did it before or not. It doesnt seem to affect drivabilty - sorry for jacking the thread.
Correct me if Im wrong but don't the cams usually do this? Maybe I missed it...but are you flashed or anything like thaT?

Man, what you are experiencing is NORMAL. Even with straight 264's, your idle will sometimes dip. That's just how the stock ECU works. Likes to 'try' different settings.
The only way you're gonna clear that up is with a flash. They pull timing from idle to get it to become more stable.
I had the cams, both straight up and -3/-1.5, and the idle was never fully stable. Ran the Xede for fuel and timing control.
Switched to Dynoflash, idle is dead steady. You wouldn't guess I have cams unless I pointed it out.
