Is his 3037 a HKS unit? If not, can you tell me where he got it from? Also, what psi is he running? His Hp/trq looks great. I wonder how his spool up is. From the graph he seems to be getting peak torque @ 5000rpms.
Thanks

U might remember me, 2 years ago i was the one who setup the 1st dyno day at twilight performance, RED EVO, Cuban guy, with a pocketlogger, and safc its been a long time

it is very possible to attain stock or near stock spool w/a larger turbo. this same guy can get a Greddy T67 on a stock motor to spool up by 3K rpm also. norris design & rc developments out of the UK have been doing this for years.

I remember you. It has been a while!
My dyno run was done on 93 octane @ 23-24psi. I also did a leak down today. It went fine. Cylinder 3 & 4 @ 97% while cylinder 1&2 @ 96%. My timing belt is still stock so I'm not sure.
The reason behind me asking for info on spool up is because I'm not seeing 24psi on pump until 4900rpms and its really bothering me because I hear pple making full boost @ 4000RPMS.

If you are running the .87 housing, it would be a worthwhile to switch to the .73.

My car rips off like an animal in 3rd gear at 4000rpm, but it still doesn't reach 23psi until 4300rpm. A datalog or a dyno graph will show the answers.

Thats the whole point of this thread. I need pple with experience to come here and tell me!
Yes, I have ordered the .73 housing from HKS. I'm wondering how bad it'll hurt the top end though...i guess you can't have the best opf both worlds.
Btw, what a/r are you using????
Thanks for the response!

On a typical GT30R on an EVO w/ a .82 gains only about 15whp and about 300-400RPM of lag over a .63. So it should translate to be roughly the same for your turbo. Either way a .73 is the way to go.
I have a .63 on my GT3076.

Looking at a boost gauge and tach does not mean you witnessed it. You have to datalogg it. I thougt I was getting full boost by 4000 but when I looked at the dataloggs it was more like 4500.

Someone mentioned that tuning could spool a turbo faster... what is best for spoolup? Advancing or retarding timing? Leaner or Richer? Is it a certain combo of the two (around 13.5 AFR?) or does advancing the timing along with a leaner mixture help in general since raising EGT's would aid spoolup?
I know that anti lag retards the timing bigtime and dumps unburnt fuel into the exhaust manifold but from what I read having the mixture too rich without a real anti-lag system just hurts spool.
