HKS 3037s Spool Up

Hi guys

I'll like to get feedback from those who have used the 3037. I'll like to know at what rpms do you achieve 22psi on a 2.0l block.

Thanks
Ben

*Friendly reminder* 22# on the 3037 is a lot different than 22# on the 16g. It's like comparing apples to oranges *friendly reminder*

yeah, the HKS turbo sucks, the A/R is all wrong from what i hear. Take a look at the spool on the Vishnu 3037 with the .63 a/r ( i think). IE Evo's spooled pretty damn quick

I do hope its just the a/r housing mismatch. That'll be simple to fix. Anyone with any experience?

Thanks
Ben

From the results I have seen, A .87 A/R housing won't spool until 5000-5200rpm. A .73 will spool up around 4600-4800rpm. I think the problem w/ the HKS3037 is due to its smaller frame when compared to a standard GT3037.

On my GT3076 I get 23 psi around 4300rpm.

I believe the HKS3037s uses a T25 turbine inlet where a true Garrett uses a T3 turbine inlet.

Thumbs up

i think it's all in the tuning. i know a guy with an early 90's mazda mx-6 w/a turbonetics T70 on a 2.0 spooling @ 4K rpm. that car runs 10.80's on slicks. On his EVO with a 4G64 block, his STOCK turbo is at full spool by 2200, YES, 2200 RPM's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

it is very possible to attain stock or near stock spool w/a larger turbo. this same guy can get a Greddy T67 on a stock motor to spool up by 3K rpm also. norris design & rc developments out of the UK have been doing this for years.

Here is IE's graph of his 3037 with the .63 A/R. This was on 103 unleaded. Hope this is helpful.
