im going to assume you have the stock turbo and in that case most people would say that you're probably going to get a pressure drop and the stock IC works great with whatever mods you're gonna do with the stock turbo so unless you plan on getting a larger turbo in the future I would spend my money elsewhere, but thats just my .02

I wouldn't use it with the stock turbo...just b/c you can doesn't mean you would want to...
read the last line from HKS
HKS R-Type Intercooler Kits
HKS R-Type intercooler kits are large front mount units that offer the ultimate in cooling capacity. R-Type intercoolers have been engineered to maintain efficiency on applications rated up to 800HP. Measuring 600mm X 302mm in frontal surface area, R-Type front mount intercooler kits maximize cooling efficiency. The 97mm thickness of the core allows for unrestricted internal airflow of pressurized air without affecting external airflow to the radiator. R-Type kits can be used with a stock turbocharger, and are recommended for highly modified turbocharger applications.

get the turbo xs intercooler if any thing. Good quality good price. Now as far as upgrading the intercooler? You dont have to if your are running the stock turbo. The only reason i upgraded mine was because of a little mishap I had with bald rear tyres. The price the dealer wanted for an oem piece you can get an upgrade for cheaper. Plus I am going to change my turbo next month and the stock intercooler just wont do.

Save your money and get the Nisei Engineering intercooler.
http://www.myevostore.com/product_in...roducts_id=276
They will be testing the HKS R-core in a few weeks to see how it measures up to the Nisei IC. Just because it's HKS doesn't mean it's necessarily good. Do your research you'll learn a ton. If you have any questions PM me too. I have a few pics of the HKS intercooler on one of my customer cars (he recently swapped out to a nisei and fixed all his heat soaking issues). The photo you attached above is for the supra core.

I want to see the comparison between the HKS and Nisei intercoolers! From the numbers, the HKS seems to be a smaller intercooler:
HKS: 25.61" x 10.07" with 4.06" thickness resulting in surface area of 257.89"^2
Nisei: 25" x 12.62" with unknown thickness resulting in surface area of 316.5"^2
HKS is not a beasty intercooler as many believe it to be.....allthough HKS states it can "support 800hp"...cant many other intercoolers? Support really doesnt mean "very efficient at 800hp"
