Rear diff and Transfer oil

Alright, please help. I have been serching like crazy for an answer to this, but I cannot seem to find one.

I am going to switch out my fluids this weekend, and I was wondering the following. As far as I can tell, there are 3 places to change fluid: Rear diff, Transmission, and Transfer case. Now my question is about Royal purple. Can I use Max Gear 75w90 in both the rear diff and the transfer case?

It looks like the transfer may require a GL-5 SAE 90, is this correct? Any suggestions on what to use otherwise?

Also, correct me if I am wrong on this. I will need 3 quarts for tranny and 2 quarts (total) to do both the transfer and rear diff.

Thanks

Not trying to be rude, but SEARCH there is so much on this topic trust me. When new threads like this are created it just makes it harder for the next person to find what they are looking for.

This setup is working well for me:

1. Tranny- Royal Purple Synchromax
2. Transfer- Royal Purple MaxGear
3. Diff- Royal Purple MaxGear

As noted above, I use Synchromax for the tranny. I've had this combo in for several months and it works excepetionally well. Shifting did improve slightly.

EVOag and lil'evo incase you didn't see what I had wrote "I have been serching like crazy for an answer to this, but I cannot seem to find one." I tried looking through everthing with no prevail.

HuskerEvo~ Thanks. Your not having any problems with the transfer case even though the Maxgear is only 75w90 instead of SAE90?

I was wondering the amounts too...EvoMoto sells a "jug" of DiaQueen, is that enough for both transfer case and rear diff?

Ride22, no problems. 75w90 IS SAE90 with better cold starting. The key element is the necessary hypoid friction modifiers for diffs like ours. No problems with the TC.

Nothing is better based on testing that we've done than AMSOIL. 75w-90 and higher for your rear diff and trans is the best on the market.

We run AMSOIL in ALL our cars and have seen increases in gas mileage, a quieter tranny and diff and unmatched lubrication. Whats nice about AMSOIL is that it soaks into the metal creating a shield of oil protection that never leaves the exposed surface.

If you want I can post up some testing that was done at a third party testing facility to show the difference in the various oils based on ball wear test, viscosity ect ect.
