Atp 3071r can this hit over 400/400 whp?
im contiplating (sp) a turbo upgrade after my cam install. Ive read on this but want a turbo that can put 400whp and at least 400 tq. this turbo is supposed to be good for 450 at the crank with minor mods. anyone have this turbo setup? goods and bads? another option is the hks 25g, but want something thats spools good enough for street driving. i do drag racing not circuit track FYI. thanx for the input.

Torque? No, it may even make less torque then teh stock turbo. Pump gas of course, but that is ONLY because it won't SPIKE like the stock turbo. It has a LONGER torque curve for sure, so you really do have more torque. The Atp uses the STOCK manifold and a different exhaust housing. This slimits topend but may help with spoolup.
On pump gas it should get you over 400WHP with cams, you need to port that stock exhaust manifold or even get the B&M manifold.

The ATP 3071R (.63) is really an exceptional turbo.
At 19lbs and 93octane I made 300HP on a Mustang All Wheel Dyno that reads rediculously low. Additionally, the turbo pulled through redline and spooled up *very* quickly (2800-3000RPM or so) ... On a dynojet Im sure it would have cracked 400 no problem with a couple more lbs of boost.
Added to the fact that no one would be the wiser if you instlled it with stock manifold and heatshield, this is truely the ultimate sleeper turbo.

thanx for the info. my goal is just over 400/400 whp. what kind of boost levels does this turbo support? (3071R) im also debating if i should just up the anti and go with the 35/40. spool up is the only thing with that unit im sure of.

I have the atp gt3071r setup with my supporting mods (see sig). I am almost on 400awhp. My numbers were made on stock turbo manifold, stock rubber intake pipe and stock upper intercooler piping. I've since added the injen intake and upper i/c pipe. And that was all on 92 octane and a conservative tune. After some alky injection and possible 2.3L stroker I'm contimplating, the hp will rise and tq. will deffinetly be more stout. Something to think about

Sorry to hijack your thread, but would u guys recommend just the ATP 3071R upgrade or the stage 3 kit? Also, would top-end power be improved if u ported and polished the stock exhaust manifold? Thanks guys!

Any results of where a 2.3L Stroker plus a GT3071R spools and what the peak numbers are?
