if you adjust the rod away from the floor and make it shorter, does it make the engagement lower in the throw or higher?

adjust the rod under the dash a couple of times in towards the firewall. or till the grinding is gone..and you will have a longer clutch pedal swing.. toke me 15 min to adj. with my act, car shifts great now..

niether were mine.. in the instructions with the clutch, online, actman, all state you have to adj the rod for the clutch under the dash.. by not adj to proper height you are wearing out the synchros..

ok so pretty much by moving it closer to the floor will help my issue of hard shifting(not grinding) into my 2nd and 3rd gear right? I just dont want to alter something that the dealership did on the install if its going to do absolutely no good. Not like i coudlnt move it back i suppose but still.

Just clarifying thx!

under the dash, loosen the nut on the clutch rod, then turn the rod in towards the firewall..i went about 4 turns.. you will notice a signifigent amount of pedal travel if youre doin it right..

Look at my earlier post above on the proper specs for freeplay. That is all you can adjust on this hydraulic clutch. These guys are right but you must maintain at least the minimum free play specified or your clutch will not completely engage when you release the pedal and this will wear the clutch out in short order. Also, if you don't have a braided stainless clutch line consider getting one. It eliminates the problem of the rubber line bulging under pressure which effectively reduces the throw of your pedal.

You got it backwards. Moving the catching point higher (away from the floor) will help shifting smoothness as it will help the clutch disengage more.
